Bellingrath Gardens - These gardens have 65 acres of landscaped colour, including a quarter of a million azaleas, situated on the tranquil and lovely Fowl river.The museum home has all the charm and beauty of the old South and was once home to a Coke-Cola magnate.
Mobile - This little place was founded by the French in 1702 who also brought the Mardi Gras with them, which has been celebrated continously since 1704.In early spring, virtually every street is transformed by the delicate colours of azaleas,cornellias and dogwoods, which add colour to complement the many early 18th Century Spanish and colonial buildings
Fort Conde - This is a reconstruction of the city's 1724 French fort and was constructed in 1976 to celebrate the Bicentennial. Dioramas in the low-ceiling rooms cover local history, while its ramparts provide a good view of the World War 2 battleship, the USS Alabama and the submarine USS Drum, which are housed here permanently. |

Gulf State Park beach and Pavilion - Contains over 10 000 ft of Gulf beach. The pavilion offers picnic tables, showers and a refreshment centre.Lifeguards on duty from May - September. A small parking fee is charged.
Perdido Point Public beach - This large, public beach offers over 6000 ft of white sandy beaches, large sand dunes, paved parking and a 225ft boardwalk.
Lagoon Park - A shallow passageway connecting Little Lagoon and the Gulf of Mexico.A handicap accessible restroom, water fountain and outdoor shower are on site. |
