TOP DESTINATIONS Add your favourite destination
SS Klondike – This vessel is one of the last sternwheelers to be used in the Yukon. In fact its last tip was in 1937, now it is used as a historic site and museum. (Whitehorse)

Midnight Dome – Midnight Dome is an 880m high hill which has great views of the surrounds. In summer you can watch the sun set and rise again without dipping below the horizon. (Dawson’s City)

Kaskawulsh Glacier – Book a charted flight to view the incredible St. Elias Mountains and the numerous glaciers in the bay. (Kluane Nation Park)

Takhini Hot Springs – For the perfect way to relax try these hot springs right in the middle of a quiet wooded area. (Whitehorse)

WHEN TO GO Add your opinion
The best time of the year to go is in summer, this is when most of the really good festivals are happening, the snow is melting, and spring is coming. Winter is not very exciting here are should rather be spent skiing a little south in British Columbia or Alberta. The province also has some of the longest summer days in the world, with the sun often never setting.

CULTURE Add your opinion

MOVING AROUND Add your opinion
Getting around in the Yukon area is very simple. Busses and airplanes connect most of the major cities in the province, but this the best way around is in a car. There are car rental places in both Whitehorse and Dawson City. When driving around though remember two things; most of the roads are in good condition but there are plenty of gravel roads about, and the price of fuel can be quite high so budget correctly.

NATIONAL FESTIVALS & HOLIDAYS Add your favourite festival
International Story Telling Festival – Many different stories of all kinds are told, in June, by First Nation participants in Whitehorse.

The Yukon Quest – The 1600km dog sled race, which runs from Whitehorse to Fairbanks, can be seen in February.

Kluane Chilkat International Bike Relay – In June there is a bike run which totals 240 odd kilometers from Haines Junction to Haines.
