LEEDS ATTRACTIONS Add your favourite attraction
Armley Mills – Look into Leeds’ industrial history in this enormous textile mill that was built in 1805, with exhibits showing the monstrous but silent machines that once were the life force of Leeds, but which were silenced in 1969. Now a museum, it can be reached either by bus or by walking along the canal path.

City Art Gallery – Henry Moore, one of the greatest sculptors of the 20th century, was a Leeds School of Art graduate, and his works can be seen at the Henry Moore Institute next to the Gallery. The collection of 20th century art displayed in the gallery includes works by Stanley Spencer and Anthony Gormley, as well as some excellent French post-impressionist art. Should you want to buy some contemporary art and craft, the Craft Shop and Design Gallery will be happy to oblige you.

Royal Armouries – Four floors of exhibits show war and all that pertains to killing one’s enemies, in interactive displays of weapons and what they can do. From Easter until October, there are daily demonstrations of jousting and falconry in Tiltyard.

Kirkstall Abbey – Building of the Kirkstall Abbey began in 1152, and completed in 1582 by Cistercian monks, and its ruins can be seen on the northern bank of River Aire. Henry VIII ordered the closure of Kirkstall Abbey in November 1539 in the Dissolution of Religious Houses, after which, the abbey was stripped of it roofs, windows and much of its stonework. It is regarded as one of Britain’s best-preserved abbeys, and many famous artists have come to Leeds to paint the ruins.

LEEDS RESTAURANTS Add your favourite restaurant
Little Tokyo – Located 24 Central Road in the center of Leeds, this Japanese restaurant serves some great curried prawns, along with the usual offerings of sushi etc. It also provides a selection of meals for vegetarians.

The Grove Cafe – At Brudenell Street, this is the place for burgers, chips and coffee for a quick, cheap meal, or a late breakfast on Sunday. Good food and good value go to making up for the previous night’s excesses.

Hansa's - 72 - 74 North Street, this Indian vegetarian restaurant is staffed by women only, and serves excellent meals in the US$11-20 price range. Men are very welcome, but only to enjoy the delicious food.

Three Horse Shoes - 16 Leeds Road, Oulton Leeds, this is one of best pubs in Leeds and very popular with the locals for its great food. With meals coming at less than US$10 a throw, it is not surprising that it is fully booked every night.

3 York Place - by Gill Butchard from United Kingdom - 2005-04-29
This is one of my favorites in Leeds. Located in the city centre, this is a fine dining restaurant priced on the expensive side to match the excellent cuisine and fresh produce used. Service and ambience are both excellent. A great restaurant for special occasions.

Hard Rock Cafe, Leeds - by Anon from United Kingdom - 2006-02-02
Albion Street, Leeds. Part of the well known rock and roll brand of Hard Rock, the Leeds edition offers a lively environment, outstanding customer service and the best burger in town! Famous music memorabilia adorns the walls of restaurant. This place is loved by all, especially kids and rockers!

LEEDS BARS & CLUBS Add your favourite bar & club
Creation - Central Leeds, this club puts on live music and covers just about every taste, style and preference, of its guests, from dancing to chilling with a VIP Bar, the Balcony Bar, and a Chill Out room. Come dressed to impress and leave you jeans and Tee’s at home with the rest of the dirty laundry.

Heaven and Hell - The Grand Arcade, Merrion Street, It really doesn’t matter if you are a sinner or a saint, this club will have something for you. From garage and soul, to hot house and trance, and dance hits from the 70’s to 90’s cheese ball charts.

Speedqueen - The Warehouse, Check in to this retro club early or you may not get in at all. With the vibey atmosphere and casual dress code, the Speedqueen is one of the most popular hangouts in Leeds, and the late admission queues seem never ending

The Majestic – Located in the city centre, this dance club bangs. The hottest club music on the block brings in the party animals and wowsers for a night of smooth moves and grooves.

LEEDS CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES Add your favourite children's spot
Children and Young People's Library Service – Give your child a break and take him/her along the local library, where they can hear stories and rhymes aimed at pre-school children and designed to stimulate their young minds.

Leeds City Councils Leisure Centres – These centres offer young people the chance to play their favourite sport and cater for children of all ages and abilities.

The David Lloyd Centre – junior players can practise tennis and badminton at this centre.
