Casa Museo Unamuno -Calle de Libreros, this 18th-century home beside the university is where the poet and philosopher Miguel de Unamuno lived from 1900 to 1914. Here he wrote many of the works that made him famous. You can see some of his notebooks and his library, along with many personal mementos.
Convento de San Esteban - Plaza del Concilio de Trento. St. Stephen's Convent is one of the most dramatic of all the old religious sites in Salamanca. The golden-brown Plateresque facade of this late Gothic church competes with the cathedral in magnificence.
Museo Art Nouveau-Art Deco - Calle Gibraltar 14. This museum contains more than 1,500 pieces, all part of the collection of the Manuel Ramos Andrade Foundation. The collection dates from the late 19th century to the 1930s, and includes bronze and marble figurines; jewelry; furniture; paintings; and a collection of some 300 porcelain dolls. |

El Candil - Plaza Mayor, in the centre of town. This Castilian tavern is very popular with the locals and university crowd, and has been in business for six decades. The food is great and the prices reasonable. This is a great place to sample the local cuisine.
Trento - This restaurant's decor was inspired by 19th-century France, with old rugs and paintings of Parisian street scenes. They serve a range of Spannish dishes like a heart of lettuce served with filet of whitefish and fresh vegetables. The food is great and the prices are very reasonable.
Restaurant Chapeau - Main street, Salamanca. This restaurant is housed in a stone-sided building that was erected in ealry 1900. The restaurant offers a more conservative Castilian cuisine, and is very popular with locals and tourists alike. On the menu you'll find a variety of meat and seafood dishes. |

Belle Epoque - 55 Paseo de Carmelitas. This bar is famous for being the place in where the best-looking people in Salamanca go to listen to the latest hits, including Spanish and Latin music. In summer you can sit outside on the sidewalk terrace and relax in the warm weather, watching the people go by.
El Callejon - Gran Via no. 66. This club is popular with football players, bullfighters and their supporters. The club is famous for organizing theme parties based on famous groups or characters, recently it held a party dedicated to the Beatles and Rolling stones. The interior is designed to look like a typical village street.
Camelot - 3 Bordadores, in the centre of town. This is the most famous nightclub in Salamanca and is very popular with the foreigners that study at the local university. The decor is that of a medieval castle, with passageways; turrets; dungeons; and knights in shining armor. There is dance floor on the ground floor and a quieter bar on the first floor. |
