Cathedral – Plaza de Alfonso II el Casto. This Gothic cathedral is one of the top attractions in Oviedo, and it was built from 1348 to the end of the 15th century. The cathedral’s Camara Santa, which dates back to the 9th century, is famous for the Cross of Don Pelayo; the Cross of the Victory; and the Cross of the Angels. .
Museo Arqueologico - Calle San Vicente 5. The museum is housed in a former convent that dates back to the 15th century. It exhibits prehistoric relics found in Asturias; pre-Romanesque sculptures; a numismatic display; and old musical instruments. Admission is free of charge..
Santa Maria del Naranco – Monte Naranco. This is one the most famous examples of Asturian pre-Romanesque architecture, and was once a 9th century palace and hunting lodge of Ramiro I. The palace was turned into a church in the 12th century, and has intricate stonework that shows hunting scenes and barrel vaulting on a network of blind arches. |

La Maquina - Avenida Conde de Santa Barbara 59. This farmhouse style restaurant, located just out of town, is very popular with locals and tourist alike. They serve a wide range of traditional regional dishes, as well as some Spanish favourites. The food is excellent and the prices are quite reasonable.
El Raitan - Trascorrales 6. This is one of the best restaurants in Oviedo to go to if you’re looking to sample some of the best regional dishes, accompanied by wines from the La Rioia. The restaurant is very popular with locals and tourists alike. The food is great, service excellent and the prices are reasonable.
Casa Fermin - Calle San Francisco 8. This is another great place to go for some of the best traditional regional cuisine, and it is a popular place for local families to have dinner. The most traditional dish on the menu is fabada asturiana, which is a bean dish with Asturian black pudding and Aviles ham. |

Estilo – Calle Pomarin. This is the best disco in town, and is very popular with a younger crowd of locals and tourists. This is the place to go if you’re looking to let your hair down and party till the sun comes up. DJs play a range of all the hottest dance music to keep the party going.
Movie’s Bar - In the centre of town. This is one of the best bars in town, and it is has been popular with a mixed crowd of locals for many years, tourists also frequent the bar in the summer. This is a great place to go and have some fun, while having a few drinks and meeting some new people.
Teatro Campoamor – In the centre of town. This is the place to go for all culture buffs visiting the city. The teatro hosts a wide range of cultural events, including classical music concerts; operas; ballets and much more. Even if you’re not a culture vulture, this is a great place for a lovely night out. |

| Oviedo is famous for handbags and shoes. The best boutiques in town are found at the intersection of Uria and Gil de Jaz. Here you’ll find a range of Spain’s top designer boutiques, which sell the same designer goods that are sold at much higher prices in Madrid and Barcelona.
