GRANADA ATTRACTIONS Add your favourite attraction
Catedral and Capilla Real - Plaza de la Lonja. This ornate Renaissance cathedral with a beautiful altar is one of Spain’s architectural highlights. Building of the cathedral began in 1521 and was completed in 1714. The cathedral is famous for its beautiful façade, and gold-and-white interior. This is a sight that should not be missed when in Granada..

Casa de Castril – Carrera del Darro 41. This is one of the most beautiful Renaissance palaces in Granada, it’s Plateresque facade, dating back to 1539, was made by Diego de Siloe. The palace was converted into a museum in 1869, and it houses a collection of artefacts that were found in the area. The most famous exhibit is the collection of Egyptian alabaster vases that were dug up in Almunecar..

Monasterio Cartuja - Camino de Alfacar. Located just out of town, this 16th century monastery is another sight worth checking out when in Granada. The baroque monastery houses a number of religious works of art, it’s most famous collection is of paintings by Bocanegra. There are occasional guided tours on offer at the monastery.

GRANADA RESTAURANTS Add your favourite restaurant
Ruta del Valleta - Carretera Vieja de la Sierra Nevada. This is possibly the best restaurant in Granada, and is popular with locals and tourists alike. The restaurant has six dining rooms, each one decorated with English and Andalusion furniture and accessories. They serve a wide range of traditional Andalusion and Spanish dishes.

Polinario - Real de la Alhambra, 3. This rather plain restaurant is one of three found within the walled area of Alhambra. The restaurant serves a wide range of Spanish dishes, and the lunch time buffet is one of the best in town. The restaurant is popular with locals and tourists alike.

Chikito - Plaza del Campilio, 9. This is another one of the top restaurants in town, and is very popular with local families and tourists. They serve a wide range of traditional Andalusion and Spanish dishes, as well as some of the best seafood in town.

Paladar - by Michelle from United Kingdom - 2007-10-29
Located in the heart of Granada (19 Martinez Campos, 958-086-012), this fairly new restaurant offers traditional Spanish cuisine with international flair. The food is beautifully cooked and very well presented, and though it costs slightly more than your typical 'menu del dia', the quality is of a much higher degree (e.g. the food is tastefully presented, the tablecloths are real and the bathrooms are clean). There is an English-speaking hostess, who is also a chef, and happy to explain the menu to travelers. I found the 'sopa de chocolate' an especially lovely dessert. Even if you don't go there for a meal, do stop by for a drink, as they are also known for their tapas.

GRANADA BARS & CLUBS Add your favourite bar & club
Grnada 10 – Calle Carcel Baja 10. This is the best disco in town, and it is frequented by a younger crowd of locals and tourists. This is the place to go if you’re looking to dance and party the whole night long. DJs play a range of the most popular dance music to keep the party pumping.

Jardines Neptuno – Calle Arabial. This is the best flamenco club in Granada, and it is popular with a mixed crowd of locals and tourists. There are live flamenco shows held ever night in this beautiful garden setting. This is the place to go to have a truly Andalusion experience.

La Esquinta – Campo del Principe. This is one of the most popular bars in town, and is frequented by a mixed crowd of locals and tourists. This is a great place to relax, have a few drinks and make new friends. If you’re hungry they also serve a range of excellent tapas.

Mir Sol - by Devin Horzempa from United States - 2005-07-06
A great little bar located right off of the river in Granada. This place has the best Sangria in town.

GRANADA PARKS & GARDENS Add your favourite park & garden
Alhambra – In the centre of town. This royal garden style park is a great place to take a break from sightseeing, while taking a relaxing stroll through the beautiful plants and flowers. There are also a number of fountains and pools throughout the park, as well as fruit trees all over.

Cipreses – Near the old town. This private villa style park is a great place to spend some time amongst nature. The park has a number of fountains and terraces on different levels, as well as a wide range of beautiful plants and trees. Here you can sit back and relax after a long days sightseeing.
