Cabo de Gata - At 29,000 hectares this is Andalucia's largest coastal natural park, with pristine waters that are perfect for fishing, sailing, and windsurfing, it is also the underwater photographers paradise. The mountain range of Cabo de Gata has sharp peaks and a craggy skyline, with jagged cliffs falling into the sea, and secret coves that have gorgeous white sand beaches.
Almeria City - Situated at the foot of a mountain range, and watched over by the splendid Alcazaba fortress, which could hold 20,000 men in times of war, and offered a magnificent view of any enemy aproaching, it is a city that offers great architectural and historical sites.
The Cathedral of Almeira - This great cathedral is located in the heart of the old quarter of Almeira, and building on it began in 1524 to replace the one that was destroyed in an earthquake in 1522. Although a church, it has a fortress-like appearance, which was determined by the continuing raids of pirates from North Africa.
