| Ceuta is located in North Africa next to Morocco on the Mediterranean and was captured by the Portuguese in 1415 and handed over to Spain in 1668 at the signing of a peace treaty in Lisbon. Ceuta became the centre for brassware, slave trade, gold and ivory under later Berber and Spanish-Moorish rulers. |

| Sidi Embarek Mosque - is the main mosque in Ceuta reflecting typical Muslim art.
The Royal Walls - 200m long and over 15m high were originally bombproof barracks. Since 1966 they have housed the national Hotel-Parador "La Muralla".
Archaeological Area of the Roman Basilica - Both the Basilica and the Necropolis were discovered around 1986. The basilica in Ceuta is said to date back to the 4th century.
The Arabian Baths – the remains of these 13th century baths are located in the Plaza de la Paz. |

Casa Pepe de Juderia - at Romero 1, Off Deanes in Cordoba has a fun-filled atmosphere and is always full. There is live Spanish guitar music most evenings and a great selection of tapas and house specialties including presa de paletilla ibérica con salsa de trufa (pork shoulder fillet with a truffle sauce).
El Caballo Rojo - at Cardenal Herrero 28, Juderia. This traditional restaurant is popular with society folk. The interior is elegant combining stained glass, dark wood, and marble. Recommended is the rabo de toro (oxtail stew),alboronia (a cold salad of stewed vegetables flavored with honey, saffron, and aniseed), cordero a la miel (lamb roasted with honey), and rape mozárabe (grilled monkfish with Arab spices).
Cunini - at Pescaderia 14, Centro in Granada is close to the cathedral and has the best fish cuisine in town. Try the delicious pescaditos fritos (fried) and the parrillada (grilled) fish and if it’s cold the caldereta de arroz, pescado y marisco (rice, fish, and seafood stew).
Jardines Alberto - at Avda Alixares del Generalife s/n, Alhambra. This restaurant has fabulous views and the interior is cosy and rural. Classic dishes include lobo de cerdo iberico confitado al ajo y hierbas serranas con pure de castañas (honeyed pork with garlic, wild herbs, and chestnut sauce) and for dessert, mousse de turron y crema de cafe (nougat mousse with coffee cream). |

Antique - in Seville is an extremely popular club and a good place for celeb spotting. It’s a taxi away located just over the Barqueta bridge.
Bodegas Castaneda at Elvira 6 - Centro, Granada is an ever popular tapas bar, very reasonably priced and worth popping in to.
Casa Elisa - C/ Almanzor, near Puerto del Almodobar in Cordoba is a super tapas bar with loads of character and atmosphere.
La Industrial Copera at Paz 7 - Ctra, de la Armilla, If you feel like dancing and you’re in Granada, this is an ever popular disco especially on Friday nights. |

| Ceuta itself has only one sandy beach but the Costa de la Luz (Coast of Light) located west of Ceuta on the Andalucía coastline has glorious golden beaches not surrounded by the typical high-rise hotels like many of the others and the Costa del Sol stretches along 150 kilometres of Málaga and is one of Spain's most popular tourist destinations. |
