Barri Gotic - Awe-inspiring architecture of medieval times, including one of Spain's greatest Gothic buildings, the Barri Gotic's cathedral, and the dark maze of streets filled with cafes and bars, lend enchantment to Barcelona's old city centre. Most of the buildings here date from Barcelona's proudest time, when it was at its peak in the 14th and 15th centuries.
Gracia - Art and politics meet on a common ground in Gracia, where students, artists, and the intellectual crowd, hang out with the man in the street, and create a lively, atmosphere in the beautiful parks during the day. At night, the Placa del Sol becomes the place to meet for an evening of entertainment and chatting up that fascinating raven-haired beauty.
La Pedrera – Designed by Gaudi, and five years in the building from 1905 to 1910, Casa Mila’s nickname, La Pedrera means ‘the quarry’, which is a reference to its grey stone facade. The building houses a modest museum dedicated to Gaudi’s work, and is open for tourists to explore. On summer weekends, the roof is lit up and people can enjoy magnificent nighttime views of the city from the top of the building. |

Juan Luc Figueras – Gracia, for a dining experience of the most sensual and sultry kind, this restaurant offers so much more than just food on a plate. It is a showcase for the cooking skill of chef/owner Jen Luc Figueras, who combines the traditional with brilliant culinary innovation and is the place for the finest Catalan cuisine in town.
7 Portes - Passeig d'Isabel II 14, this restaurant has been going since 1836, and its name means ‘seven doors’, which it actually does have, which open on to several different rooms. It is a favourite amongst the business fraternity, who come in for lunch before heading back to the stock exchange across the road. It is an elegant place and ideal for that celebratory occasion, or intimate dinner for two.
Dulcinea – Via Petrixol 2, this is the most famous chocolate shop in Barcelona, and it would make your children’s’ holiday to take them for a treat here. The speciality of the house is the melindros, which are soft biscuits with divine sugar toppings that are perfect for dunking in the thick hot chocolate |

Salvation - Ronda de Sant Pere 19-21. If you are queer, come here! This is the flashiest, most in your face, way past pink and well into magenta zone, gay dance club in Barcelona. It has been going since 1999 and is the place to see, be seen, and seen through, where the clothing is sheer and so is the delight.
Adarra - Torrent de l'Olla 148, this bar is great for patrons of the Verdi Movie Theatre, where they can grab a bite to eat before going in, and then down a few after the show.
Almirall - joaquim costa 33, quiet, dimly lit, this is a romantic hideaway for lovers, or those who want to recapture the early days of joy before they were borne down with responsibilities and kids. |

Parc de la Ciutadella – This is one of Barcelona’s most popular parks, and the perfect place to take a break form sightseeing and petrol fumes. It has a small lake, and a lovely fountain that cools the hot summer scene, as well as its main attraction the Barcelona Zoo.
Parc Guell – this park was created by Gaudi in the early 1900’s, and is magnificently landscaped on a hillside, making it an enchanting escape from the hurley-burley of traffic and noise on the busy city streets. |
