Iglesia del Castillo - This Gothic-Mudejar church was built by the Knights Templar around the ruins of a Moorish castle. The castle is on the side of a steep hill so the walk is an effort, but well worth it.
Gruta de las Maravillas - This is the biggest and possibly the most impressive cave in Spain. Legend has it that it was found by a local youth who was looking for a lost pig. There are guided tours and as the cave is illuminated it is possible to see for yourself its awe-inspiring beauty.
La Mezquita - Almonaster la Real The castle in this village encloses a very small ninth-century mosque, which has, what is said to be the oldest mihrab in Spain. Next to the mosque is a bullring that is used once a year during the annual fiesta in August.

Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche Nature Reserve – The reserve was created in 1989 to preserve the countryside and way of life of the villages in this special area. Thickly wooded hills give way to groves of olives and orchards of apples, plums and other fruit. There are rocky escarpments and mule tracks that wind around the countryside with its whitewashed villages hanging from the side of a hill or nestling in pretty valleys. The area offers excellent walking or riding conditions.
Coto de Donana – This is a big nature reserve with numerous salt flats, sand dunes and marshes. It is extremely important to migratory birds and endangered mammals like the Iberian lynx.
