Cathedral of San Juan Bautista - This construction in the heart of town is a landmark with an exiting history. Taking 400 years to build in a mixture of Gothic and Renaissance styles. The interior is ornately decorated and contains some superior works of art. For the building alone it is well worth a visit.
Museum of Albacete - Abelardo Sanchez Park. This fine museum is well positioned in the centre of the park. Some great peices are housed here and the visitor can get a good overview of the town through the three seperate sections of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Ethnology.
Monastery of the Encarnacion - This is the city's cultural centre, the monastery dates from the 16th century. It is the place for touring cultural exhibits and the original copper ceiling is spectacular. This building is a must see on a visit to the city.
Albacete Race Track - You can go to this famous track to watch regular race meetings or have a go yourself on a weekday. This is one for Dad. |

Albacete Parador - Located just 3km from the town on the road to Almansa. This is a country hotel with a fine restaurant that serves traditional cuisine of the area. The owners and waiters are friendly and you are made to feel at home. The Castilla la Mancha wine is popular and cheap. Well worth the trip to this country estate.
Restaurante El Callejon - Guzmán El Bueno 18, Theres a special atmosphere in this old established favourite. Looks like a barn from the outside, but don't let looks decieve you because it looks like a barn inside. An upmarket barn I grant you. Well cooked food is strictly Manchega and locals flock here for their fix of gourmet local cooking.
Restaurante Nuestro Bar - Alcalde Conangla, 102. Enjoy a tour of Spanish cuisine at this popular restaurant. The extensive menu offers a taste of all areas and local Manchega cooking is well covered. The decor is basic and they have a large wine list. Tasty food and good value overall.

El parque Abelardo Sanchez - A favourite hangout for locals and tourists alike. Located in the centre of town and containing plenty of shady trees for those steamy days. Take a walk on the many paths to discover the rich plantlife. The park is also the home of a museum for the whole region.
Los Jardinillos - This is a well landscaped area in the heart of town. The venue for many of the live concerts in the city. The venue is used nearly every night in the summer and the variety ranges from classics, jazz to the top local pop bands. |
