Lisbon - Portugal's capital has lots to offer the visitor. Relax in one of the many parks or on one of the beaches. Wonder through the museums and the cobblestone streets of the Alfama district. Lisbon is one of the most economical cities in Europe so you will have plenty of mone left to enjoy delicious local cuisine at one of the many restaurants and cafes.
Porto - soak up the historical atmosphere and architecture of this city. Porto's historic centre has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1996 and is well worth a visit. Enjoy a tram ride along the banks of the river or a boat ride on the river. Keep the kids happy in Porto's fantastic planetarium or visit the lovely beaches.
Evora - this picturesque walled town is situated amongst the wheat fields, olive groves and vineyards. Visit the very unique Ossuary Chapel made of human bones and kulls.
Algarve - the Algarve province is famous for its wonderful sandy white beaches. This area is a sunworshiper utopia. Restaurants serve a full range of international and local cuisine. Aqualand, Portugal's biggest waterpark is a fun way to spend the day for the whole family. |
| Sesimbra - by Mara from Portugal - 2008-05-02 | | Sesimbra is situated in the Bay of Setúbal and lies at the foothills of the Serra da Arrábida. Beautiful fishermans village with wonderful beaches, great restaurants/bars and night life to suit all tasts.
Places to visite in and arround Sesimbra include, Moorish castle, Sesimbra's harbour, Church of Nossa Senhora do Castelo, Arrabida National Park, Nossas Sra. da Pedra Nua or Nossa Sra do Cabo- Cape Espichel, Albufeira Lagoon, Espirito Santo Chapel Museum, Santiago Fortress among many others. |
| Figueira da Foz - by Vanessa Delgado from Portugal - 2009-05-05 | | Great beach town with friendly people and very clean. Lots of sporty stuff to do if you feel like it - or just laze on the most massive beach you've ever seen. Food near the beach front can sometimes be iffy but away from the beach it's great and very cheap. Portuguese wines are vastly under rated and they're incredibly cheap! |

Praia Da Ilha de Faro - located just south of faro, the principal town of the Algarve, this is a populr beach with lots of restaurants and watersports facilities.
Praia Da Arrifana - one of the few beaches in the Algarve thai is reasonably safe for swimming, it has breathtaking views and is particularly wonderful to visit out of season.
Praia de Legua - one of Lisbon's best beaches, EEC Blue Flag accredited, life guards on duty and a beach restaurant and coffee house. |
| Praia da Falesia - by Clive Ham from United Kingdom - 2006-05-31 | | Situated between Vilamoura and Albufeira, there is 15 kms of uninterrupted soft golden sand shelving gently into the sea, with the occasional outcrop of rocks to break-up the coastline. The backdrop being stunning orange sandstone cliffs which are topped by outstanding pines and wild flowers which provide enchanted cliff-top walks, especially in the spring. |
| Gafanha da boa hora - by Daniella from Canada - 2006-10-26 | | Excellent sand, as well as lots of sun, not very populated and lots of stores and restaurants |
| Fonte da Telha - by Mara from Portugal - 2008-05-02 | | On the south shore of Lisbon are some very beautiful beaches, Costa da Caparica is one of them. Coming from Lisbon you can take the TST buses that connect Praça de Espanha (underground Praça de Espanha) or Areeiro (underground Areeiro) to Costa de Caparica. You should get out immediately after crossing the 25 de Abril Bridge, climb the stairs to Pragal and take the TST bus to: Marisol, Fonte da Telha or Costa de Caparica, with stop in Monte de Caparica (Church Square). There are reasonably priced hotels arround the beach area, and a lot of beach bars and restaurants. CC is a very active area in the summer time, it's got great atmosfear and great surfing waves. |

The best and fastest way to get around Portugal is by bus. Express services are offered between the Algarve and major cities. Trains can be slow but cheap and taxis are another inexpensive option.
Inland flights are expensive and not really necessary due to the fact that Portugal is not very large. When in lisbon you can also make use of the underground metro. |
