VERONA ATTRACTIONS Add your favourite attraction
Basilica San Zeno Maggiore - Piazza San Zeno. This Romanesque church and campanile was built between the 9th and 12th centuries. The entrance consists of two pillars with puce-coloured marble lions and a rose window called the Ruota della Fortuna. The panels on the bronze doors are an amazing achievement of medieval art, sculpted in the 12th century. This is one of the top attractions of Verona and is a must see.

Castelvecchio - Corso Castelvecchio 2. This old castle, which stands beside the Adige river, was built in the 14th century. The castle now houses an art museum, with important paintings from the Veronese school and other masters of northern Italy. 14th and 15th century sculptures are found on the ground floor, and on the upper floor there are masterpieces of paintings from the 15th to the 18th century. There is so much to see at the castle and is not to be missed.

San Fermo - Stradone San Fermo. This 11th century Romanesque church forms the foundation of the 14th century Gothic building that surrounds it. The interior has a single nave and an amazing roof constructed of wood. The most important work found inside is Pisanello's frescoed Annunciation, the work reveals the artist's keen eye for architectural detail and his bizarre animals.

Ristorante Re Teodorico - Piazzale Castel San Pietro 1. This restaurant is situated on a hill on the edge of town, and has an amazing view of Verona and the Adige. Tables are set outside on a terrace, with classical columns and red, pink, and yellow flowering vines. They serve a range of excellent local dishes, with a good selection of local and Italian wines.

Antico Caffe Dante - Piazza dei Signori 2. This outstanding restaurant is housed in a historic building, in the centre of Verona. This is one of the most popular restaurants with tourists that visit the city. They serve a range of regional dishes, including fresh sturgeon with vegetables; Adriatic Salad; Noodles in Duck Sauce; and pike from Lake Garda, served with polenta. This restaurant is highly recommended.

Baba Iaga - Via Cabalao 12. This stylish restaurant, situated just out of Verona, stands on in a beautiful spot overlooking the entire Alpone valley. They serve a range of excellent traditional local dishes, such as macaroni in rabbit stew; tortelloni with duck; sea-bass parcels; and hot pear pastries. They also have a great selection of local wines.

Leon d'Oro - Via Pallone 10a. This park opposite the beautiful gardens is very popular, especially in summer when you can sit outside. It is frequented by a mixed crowd of locals and tourists. This is a great place to go and relax, while having a few drinks.

Mercedes Cafe - Via Oberdan 15-17. This two storey bar is one of the most popular in town, and is frequented by locals and tourists. The downstairs area is small but perfect for having cocktails. Tthe upstairs area is larger and more elegant, with soft blue velvet sofas. This is a great place to go and relax, while having some drinks and mixing with locals.

Alter Ego Club - Via Torricelle 9. This is the hippest club in Verona, and is famous all over Italy and the rest of Europe. There are DJs that play a mixture of all the latest dance hits. This is one of the most popular venues in town, and attracts a mixed crowd of locals and tourists. This is the place to go if you're looking to dance the night away.

Via Santa Felicita 8,wonderful place close to Ponte Pietra, Casa Halliwell is a very extraordinary lounge and wine bar in an old church.The atmosphere is magical, food is very peculiar (kebab-sushi-sashimi-Internatinal salads) but absolutely affordable. Il Giardino Giusti - Via Giardino Giusti 2. This park has all the features of a typical Renaissance garden, such as a geometrical layout of flowerbeds and hedgerows; fountains; grottos; mask; mythological statues; cypresses; and a maze. This is a great place to go and relax, taking a break from the city.

VERONA CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES Add your favourite children's spot
Acquapark Altomincio - Located at Salionze sul Mincio. This park , which combines modern amusements and natural attractions, is a great place to take the children. There are many exciting attractions on offer, including the kamikazi Banzai; the pools of the Niagara Run; the aquatic Bumper Boat; swimming pools for children and adults; bowling greens; beach volley ball; and foam football. This is a great place for the whole family to enjoy.

Skatepark Roxy's Ring - Localita Ferlina 1. This is one of the most famous skate parks in Italy, and is a great place to take your children to have some fun. The park offers a fun box;a quarter wall; a parabolic rink; two mini-pipes; a spine; and a video games arcade for those who don't feel like skating.
