Archaeological Museum of Sorrento peninsula - Via Ripa di Cassano. This is one of the top attractions in Sorrento and houses a range of interesting exhibitions pertaining to the history of Sorrento and the surrounding peninsula. This is a great place to start off sightseeing in the town as you'll get to know all the history about Sorrento.
Antiquarium Aequano - Located at the Palazzo Comunale. This museum houses a collection of archaeological findings that date back to Etruscan; Greek; and Italic times, from the 7th to the 3rd century B.C. There are many interesting exhibits on display and this is another good stop on your sightseeing itinerary. Admission to the museum is free.
Museum Correale di Terranova - Via Correale 48. This museum houses exhibitions pertaining to the history of the city and the purest craft tradition of inlaid wood. There are many interesting and informative displays found throughout the museum. The museum is open everyday from 9h00 to 14hoo, except on Tuesdays and public holidays. |

Aurora - Piazza Tasso 10/11. This simple and pleasant restaurant, situated in the historical centre of Sorrento, is one of the best in town. It is popular with locals and tourists alike. They serve a range of local dishes, specializing in pizza and serving 50 different varieties. The food is excellent and the prices are reasonable.
Ristorante Caruso - Via S. Antonino 12. This is one of the most popular restaurants with tourists to Sorrento. Inside the elegant restaurant is a minimuseum dedicated to the famous tenor Enrico Caruso. They serve a a range of delicious local dishes and have an excellent selection of wines. This restaurant is highly recommended.
'O Canonico 1898 - Piazza Tasso 7. This classic and traditional restaurant, situated in the central public square Tasso, has been a firm favourite with locals for many years. They serve a good range of homemade local dishes, concentrating on seafood dishes. They also have an excellent selection of Italian wines. This is the place to go to sample some tradtitional Sorrento home cooking. |

Caffee 2000 - Located at the Largo Dominova on Via S. Cesareo. This festive bar is one of the most popular in town, and is frequented by a mixed crowd of locals and tourists. This is the best place to start sampling the nightlife Sorrento has to offer. Come have a drink and mingle with some of the locals.
Circolo Dei Forestieri - Via Luigi de Maio 35. This is the most popular bar with tourists to Sorrento. There is live music and karaoke on offer, and they serve a range of beers; wines; and coctails. This is a great place to go and have a few drinks, sing a few songs and meet some new people.
Fauno Notte Club - Piazza Tasso 1. This is one of the best nightclubs in town, and is popular with a younger crowd of locals and tourists. They have Djs that play a range of all the latest pop and dance hits. This is the place to go if you're looking to dance till the early hours of the morning. |

Shopping in Sorrento is one of the most fun and amusing activities to do in town, there is a wide variety of shops and goods to choose from. The centre of shopping in Sorrento is Via S. Cesareo, in the heart of town. There are a multitude of shops lining the ancient Greek-Roman route where tourists from every part of the world browse for some localy crafted items.
Here you can buy handcrafted items, including inlaid works; artistic ceramics and scented wax; limoncello sweets; rosolio liqueur; silver jewels; corals; and Neapolitan eighteenth century crib’s figurines. |
