Ionian Coast - Eastern Sicily. This is the part of Sicily that attracts most of the tourists to the island, with the most exciting sights. Taormina is the islands most chic resort and is famous for its Graeco-Roman theatre. One of the top attractions in the region is Europe's highest volcano, Mount Etna. Megara Hyblaea has the most extensive remains of the former Greek Cities that used to lie on the southeastern coast.
Tyrrhenian Coast - This one of the most beautiful regions in Sicily, with sandy beaches; small resorts; and villages. Cefalu is the premier destination along the coast, with its famous Romanesque cathedral. The Parco Naturale Regionale delle Madonie is one of Sicily's most important nature reserves, and is great for a day trip. The coast contains some of north Sicily's most impressive ruins, including those at Himera and at Tyndaris, west of Milazzo.
Southern Coast - Here you'll find two of the great cities of Magna Graecia, Selinunte and Agrigento. Agrigento has a remarkable series of Doric temples from the 5th century B.C. Selinunte has extensive remains of the acropolis. Down on the coast there's a line of small town resorts which stretches from the southeastern cape, Capo Passero. Don't give this part of Sicily a miss. |

Ristorante Il Dehor - Located in Agrigento. This is one of the best restaurants in Sicily, and is very popular with locals and tourists alike. They serve a range of excellent local Sicilian dishes and some international cuisine. This restaurant is highly recommended.
Locanda Don Serafino - Located in Ragusa. This is one of the finest in southern Sicily and is housed in the cellars of a 17th century palace. They serve a wide range of excellent traditional Sicilian dishes, and the wine list is supurb. This is a great place to go and sample some of the local cuisine at it's best.
Osteria I Tre Bicchieri - Located in Catania. This restaurant, opened in 2002, has become the town's best and most popular restaurant. They serve an extensive range of outstanding Continental cuisine, specializing in Mediterranean fish dishes. It is very popular with locals and tourists alike. |

Malox - Located in Palermo at Piazzetta della Canna 8-9. This pub is one of the best in town, and is very popular with locals and tourists. The atmosphere is very informal and friendly. From time to time there are live music performances and film screenings. They have a great selection of beers; wine; cocktails; and spirits.
Banacher - Located just out of Catania. This is outdoor club is one of the most popular clubs in sicily, it is frequented by a mixed group of locals and tourists. They play a wide range of dance music from all over the world. This is the place to go for an experience you won't forget, meet new people and dance till the early hours of the morning. There is a cover charge of around $12.
Bar Morgana - Located in Taormina. This funky and smart bar is one of the best in town, and is popular with a mixed group of young and trendy locals and tourists. This is a great place to go and have a few drinks; party; and mingle with the locals. They serve a good range of drinks and the prices are reasonable. |

Lido Mazzaro - Located in Taormina. This is the best equiped beach in Sicily and is one of the finest, which is very popular from April to October. You can take a 15 minute cable car ride down from the town onto the the beach. There are numerous bars and restaurants bordering the beach.
Marina di Ragusa - This is the best beach in southern Sicily and is very busy during the summer months. The beach has a wide range of watersports on offer, and there are many pubs and ice cream bars located near the beach. This is a great place for the whole family to have some fun in the sun.
Mortelle - The resort of Mortelle is where you'll find the best beaches of northeast Sicily. This area is filled with many excellent sandy beaches, so you have a wide choice available. The beaches are very popular during the summer months, with locals and tourists. Lido dei Tirreno is the most popeular beach in the area. |
