GENOA ATTRACTIONS Add your favourite attraction
Acquario di Genova - Located at Ponte Spinola. This aquarium is the largest in Europe and explores the amazing richness of marine life. The 40 tank aquarium was built to look like a huge ship, ready to set sail. There are a wide range of exhibits on display, capturing marine life from the great coral reefs of the planet to the tropical rain forests of the Amazon River basin. There is much to see, so allow yourself atleast 3 hours to wander through the aquarium.

Cattedrale di San Lorenzo and Campanile - Piazza San Lorenzo, Via Tommaso Reggio 17. this is one of the most amazing of all the medieval churches in Genoa. The church dates back to the 13th century, while dome and the bell tower dates from the 16th century. This is an amazing sight to behold and is not to be missed.

Galleria Nazionale - Piazza della Pellicceria 1. The National galllery houses a major collection of art, including Joos van Cleve's Madonna in Prayer; Antonello da Messina's Ecce Homo; and Giovanni Pisano's Guistizia. It is also known for it's collection of decorative arts, such as furniture; silver; and ceramics; and many other items.

Da Giacomo - Corso Italia 1R. The is one of the best restaurants in Genoa, and it is very popular with the locals and tourists alike. They serve a range of local dishes, with an emphasis on seafood. The food is excellent, prices are reasonable and the service is outstanding. This restaurant is not to be missed when in Genoa.

Gran Gotto - Viale Brigate Bisagno 69R. This is probably the best restaurant in Genoa, it was opened in 1937 and has been in the same family eversince. They specialize in seafood, but also serve a range of ecxellent meat and pasta dishes. This is one of the best places to go and sample some of the local cuisine.

Da Rina - Mura delle Grazie 3r. This restaurant, found near the waterfront, is popular with locals and tourists alike. They serve a range of simple Genoese dishes, many fish and classic Ligurian dishes such as cima alla genovese. The food is great and the pries very reasonable.

GENOA BARS & CLUBS Add your favourite bar & club
Bar Berto - Piazza delle Erbe 6r. This relaxed and friendly bar was founded in 1904 by Signor Berto. This bar is a trendy place to go and have some coffee; beer; wine or some cocktails. It is very popular with the locals and tourists alike, and is a good place to go and mix with the locals.

Le Corbusier - V.S. Donato 36. This bar is one of the favourites of the young and hip locals, and attracts a mixed crowd of artists and students. They often have small art exhibitions and poetry readings held here. This is a great place to ralax, have a few drinks and mingle with the locals.

Mako- Corso Italia 28R. This is the best night club in Genoa and is very popular with a young crowd of locals antourists. This club has a piano bar; disco; and a restaurant, so it caters for whatever you're in the mood for in an evening out. This is the place to see and be seen, don't miss out when in town.

GENOA PARKS & GARDENS Add your favourite park & garden
Parco dell'Acquasola - Viale IV Novembre. This park covers the area where the 16th century fortifications once stood. The park was established in 1871 as an area for relaxing and sporting activities. It has tree-lined walkways and a central lake, where you can feed some ducks or swans. There's a children playground; football pitches; table tennis tables; bowling greens; and even an athletics track.

Parco della Villetta Di Negro - Piazzale Mazzini. This beautiful park in the centre of Genoa, covers about 2 hectares and has many attractions, including palm trees; Lebanese cedars; camphors and sequoias; fountains; lakes with swans and ducks; aviaries of birds; evocative artificial grottoes; and the breathtaking waterfall. This is a great place to relax and get away from the city.

GENOA SHOPPING Add your favourite attraction
Mercato Orientale - This sprawling food market is one of the most colourful markets in Europe and is a must see for anyone visiting Genoa. They sell a range of local produce, including olives; fresh herbs; citrus fruits; and every possible known sea food that's edible.

Via Colombo and Via San Vincenzo - Just north of the market you can wandeer through the streets, Via Colombo and Via San Vincenzo, which are full of shops with a Middle Ages atmosphere. Here you can get a whole range of local produce.
