REGENSBURG ATTRACTIONS Add your favourite attraction
Dom St. Peter's - Domplatz, This towering landmark in a city of churches dates back to the 13th century. Built in Gothic style and containing much to catch the eye including the stained-glass windows and many ornate stone sculptures. The famous boys choir 'Dompatzen' perform at Sunday services.

Domschatzmuseum - Krauter-markt 3, This is a collection from the Cathedrals long past, and can be accessed from St Peter's. Items on show date from the 11th to the 20th century and there are some interesting gold and textile exhibits.

Museen de Stadt Regensburg - Dachauplatz 2-4, The city museum houses an important collection from the Roman period. This is the place to find out about the city and it's past. If you are interested in Roman remains you will want to visit Porta Praetoria near the Cathedral for well preserved ruins.

Walhalla - This is outside of the city on the northern bank of the Danube and is a charming boat trip down the Danube. A temple constructed in the 1830s for Ludwig of Bavaria. Great Germans are remembered here and you will love the view.

Steinerne Brucke - Bridge of stone over the Danube, the 310m long bridge was built in the 12th century and a fine example of Medieval stonework. Spectacular views of the city, don't forget to bring your camera.

REGENSBURG RESTAURANTS Add your favourite restaurant
Restaurant and Bistro Rosenpalais - Minoritenweg 20, Centrally situated to the east of the city, in an 18th century villa. Upstairs is the upmarket restaurant serving imaginative International fare. The ground floor is a more relaxed bistro for a simpler (And cheaper) meal. Unique food on both levels.

Ratskeller - Rathausplatz 1, Just 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral and offering great, hearty Germanic food. The two dining rooms serve Bavarian specilities in style and they do a fixed price lunch that is good value. Don't be put off by the name!

Zum Neuen Gansbauer - Keplerstrasse 10, One of the smartest restaurants in the city and popular with it's well heeled clientele. Only the freshest ingredients are used here and the 500 year old building adds to the atmosphere. In summer the tables spill out onto the pedestrian zone.

Hofbrauhaus - Waaggasschen 1, Right in the centre of town, next to the tourist office is this Tavern/Bavarian restaurant. Popular with families and tourists serving traditional Bavarian food. Only in the summer.

REGENSBURG BARS & CLUBS Add your favourite bar & club
Cartoon - Galgenberger Strasse 20, On the main floor of this popular hang out are live bands performing blues, rock and reggae. The cellar houses a disco and the volume is tremendous with both rocking together. Lively DJs and bars complete your night.

Scala - Gesandtenstrasse 6, The fashionable place for the up and coming young crowd. Three bars surround the dance floor, so there shouldn't be too much of a queue for drinks, except the nights with only one barman.

Goldene Ente - Badstrasse 32, The towns oldest inn is a bit quieter at night and has a lovely beer garden overlooking the Danube. They serve the famous Eisernen Steg Brucke as well as farm style German food.

Kneitinger - by Nicola from United Kingdom - 2005-09-23
Beautiful traditional Bavarian bar, with good Bayerish food, and beer. My favorite place to be in Regensburg. And make sure you say hello to Eva!

REGENSBURG CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES Add your favourite children's spot
Figurentheater im Stadtpark - Dr. Johann-Maier-Strasse. This puppet theatre is a local institution and the ever changing programme will be enjoyed by young and young at heart..

Regensburg Christmas markets - Neupfarrplatz, If you are lucky to be on holiday here why not enjoy the traditional German Christmas Market. While you sip on hot Gluhwein, the kids will love the Christmas lights and the stalls chock a block with goodies. There is plenty of action at Christmas here..

Donaupark - A large park with an artificial lake for boating in the summer and home of Regensburg's botanical gardens, lovely and cool in the summer. A great place for kids to run around and lose some energy.
