DRESDEN LOCAL HISTORY
Dresden is one of the major cities in Germany. Established in medieval times it blossomed during the 18th century and became a major cultural centre with many magnificent buildings. Unfortunately nearly all of these were destroyed by World War 11 Allied bombing raids in February 1945. Meticulous restoration work has been in progress since the end of the war and final completion is expected in 2006, which is the city’s 800-year anniversary.

It is a must see for any visitor to Dresden.
