The Odeillo solar furnace - The sunshine hours at Font Romeu make it the best location for the Odeillo solar furnace. It has 9,600 mirrors to capture the sun's energy and concentrate it to reach temperatures over 3,000°C. The Odeillo laboratory is dedicated to research on ceramics.

They serve a wide range of local dishes and French wines, in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The prices are a little above average, but the excellent local food is well worth it.
Le Romarin - Bd Francois Arago. This restaurant is a good place to start off sampling some of the excellent local dishes. It is very popular with tourist and is recommended by almost all the tourists who have visited Font Romeu. The food is excellent and the prices are reasonable.
