La Maison du Chevalier - 56 rue Trivalle. This is the best commercial art gallery in Aude. It's found on the right side of the road on the way up to the Cite. The gallery houses exhibitions of excellent contemporary paintings; sculptures; and photography in a spacious and well lit gallery, on two floors.
Musee des Beaux-Arts - The Museum houses 102 paintings, which are hung chronologically. The museum is well worth a visit, as it has some interesting paintings of well known artists, notably Chardin and Corot. There are many interesting displays to see, this museum is a sight not to be missed.
Montsegur - This castle is situated on a rock at an altitude of some 1200 m, Montsegur is the most legendary of all the cathar castles. The setting is amazing and its beauty impressive, and with its history of drama, it is the cathar castle not to miss. |

Restaurant de Saint Jean - Located at Chemin Saint Jean. This restaurant with a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere, situated at the end of the streets near the ramparts, offers an upscale menu. The restaurant is very welcoming, from the outside tables to the artwork within. They serve traditional food with a twist, and the quality is excellent.
Le Vieux Four - Found near the centre of town, this two-story restaurant serves traditional French food as well as some Italian food. This small, but inviting restaurant has a great atmosphere. The food is excellent and the prices very reasonable, it's easy to see why it's such a popular place to dine.
L'Arbre de Vie - 3 Place Marcou, La Cite. This restaurant, located right in the centre of La CIte, serves excellent local food at great prices. Here you can sit back and enjoy excellent food and wine, with lovely views. The set menus are really good value and include local specialities such as cassoulet. |

Eclipse - 30 Minervoise road. This karaoke bar is very popular with the locals and tourists alike. With a warm and friendly atmosphere, this is the place to go and have fun singing along to your favourite songs, while meeting new people.
Bubble - 115 Weephole street. This is one of the most popular and best dance clubs in Carcassonne, and is frequented by the younger locals and tourists. This is the place to go if you're looking to party and dance the night away.
Habana Cafe - 23 Places Carnot. If you're looking for a more relaxed evening out, this music lounge is the place to go. With its distinctly Cuban ambience; excellent latin music; and friendly atmosphere, it is easy to see why it's so popular. You can either relax and have a few drinks, or dance up a storm to some great music. |

Moto Liberte 11 - RD 118, 11600 Conques-sur-Orbiel. A centre for moto-cross for children from 6 years old, there are 12 beginners circuits. The children must have high shoes or boots; thick gloves;and knee protectors. Moto Liberte is a non-profit association whose aim is educating children in rules and safety. Open Wednesdays for the 6-12 years old and Saturday afternoon for the 12-15 years old
Dinosauria - Located in Esperaza. This is the only museum in Europe exhibiting exclusively dinosaurs : 35 different species. The palaeontology workshop introduces 6-12 years olds to archaeological digging and skeleton reconstruction. 5 mins away the largest archaeological digging area in Europe is open to the public for guided tours. |
