For gorgeous views of the island head to Fort George and Fort Frederick. take a walking tour of the historic part of the city to view the old buildings such as the public librrary, the Methodist church and the Parliment buildings. Learn more about the island at the small National Museum.

Carrriacou - a small peaceful island with green hills and marvelously deserted sandy beaches. Hillsborough is the capital of the island and its strong African tradition can be seen in the annual Big Drum dances and unique Tombstone feast. Sandy Island and White Island are great for snorkelling, diving and swimming and the beach is lovely. Tyrrel Bay is famous for its 'Tree Oysters' that grove on Mangrove roots and is the best place for yachting.

Minivan Buses are the best way to get around the island if you can stomach the loud Reggae and calypso music and the death defying driving. To catch a buss, stand on the side of the road and stick out your hand and when you want to get off, shout drop one.

Buses are not readily available after dark and Sundays. Taxis are a better option. Flights and boats can be taken between Grenada and Carriacou. There are a number of car rental agencies, just remember to drive on the left and buy a local drivers lisence.
