SANTIAGO ATTRACTIONS Add your favourite attraction
Catedral de Santiago Apostol - Parque Duarte. This 19th century neoclassical cathedral contains the tombs of the tyrant Ulises Heureux, as wells as the heroes of the Restauracion de la Republica. With its amazing architecture and interesting displays, this is one of the top sights in Santiago and is not to be missed.

Monumento a los Heroes de la Restauracion - This monument is located on the highest point of the city, with outstanding views of the Cibao Valley. This is a popular place where locals hang out on weekends, with lots of festivities.

Museo de la Villa de Santiago - Parqu Duarte. This is one of the best museums in town and houses exhibitions on Santiago's culture and art. There are many interesting displays found throughout the museum that will keep you busy for the best part of a few hours.

SANTIAGO RESTAURANTS Add your favourite restaurant
El Cafe - Av Texas esq Calle 5. This is one of the best cafes in Santiago and is very popular with locals and tourists alike. They serve a wide range of local food, at average prices. This is a great place to experience local cuisine at its best.

Kukara Macara - Located in the centre of town. This rustic, cowboy style restaurant is one of the most popular places in town, and is frequented by locals and tourists. They serve a range of localy inspired dishes, including steaks; seafood; tacos; sandwiches; and burgers.

Ole - JP Duarte esq Independencia. This restaurant and pizzeria is a great place to go for some Italian food in the Caribbean. They serve an excellent range of pizzas and pastas, at reasonable prices. Ole is popular with locals and tourists alike, especially the budget tourist.

It is near the club called Monte Bar. you could go anytime because it is open 24/7. after u come from clubing u could go eat a mondongo or a burrito with french fries u name it they got.

SANTIAGO BARS & CLUBS Add your favourite bar & club
Champion Palace - Located near the centre of town. This is the biggest night club in Santiago with a capacity of 2,000 people. It is very popular with a younger crowd of locals and tourists. Djs play aaa range of music from top dance hits to some more Caribbean style music. This is the place to go if you're looking to party all night.

La Mansion - Autopista Duarte. This is another excellent night lcub in Santiago, with a very festive and lively atmosphere. It is popular with a mixed group of locals and tourists. This is a great place to go and have fun, a few drinks and mix with the locals and some fellow tourists.

El Generalismo - Carretera Luperon. This piano bar is decorated with classic cars from the Trujillo era, and is a popular spot for locals and tourists to hang out. This is a great place to go if you're looking to have a more relaxed evening out, listening to some fine music and enjoying a drink or two.

It is a hot night club where some of the biggest stars go to perform. They have a dj and also live music by Johnny Veentura, Yovanny polanco, and more you could party all night long.

A very good club in the center of the city don't really know the specific address but all I know its a great club! I live in New York and I go back every year to Santiago and especially BIU pub

SANTIAGO SHOPPING Add your favourite attraction
There are a host of shopping opportunities in Santiago, the best place to go to is Mercado Modelo Turistica at Calle de Sol, where you can get a range of local handcrafted items.

Outside town, on Autopista Duarte, there are many locals selling pottry and ceramic items at very low prices. Further along the road you will find a whole host of hawkers selling a multitude of goods, such as fruit; vegetables; coconuts; cane furniture; and much more.

A new mall in Santiago that they just built. It has a movie theater a some stores like jumbo, payless etc
