Regional Museum of Archaeology - Altos de Chavon. This museum houses the collections of Samuel Pion, the amateur archaeologist, who collected treasures from the vanished Taino tribes, which were the island's first settlers. The museum has many interesting exhibitions and is not to be missed. Admission is free.
The Galleries - Altos de Chavon. There are three separate galleries found here, the Principal Gallery; the Rincon Gallery; and the Loggia. They house the work of well-known and emerging Dominican and international artists. The gallery also has a consignment space where finely crafted silk-screen and other multiple works are sold.
Church of St. Stanislaus - Main Plazza. This is the central attraction on the main plazza and is one of the best known attractions of La Romana. It has the fountain of the four lions; a colonnade of obelisks; and amazing panoramic views. Mass is held here every Saturday and Sunday at 17h00. |

El Patio - Casa de Campo. This bistro with banks of plants and checkerboard tablecloths, is very popular with locals and tourists. They serve a wide range of excellent local dishes, including grilled snapper in a savory lime sauce and filet of salmon with a perfectly prepared vinaigrette. The food is great and the prices are very reasonable.
Cafe del Sol - Altos de Chavon. This is cafe has the best pizzas on the south coast and is very popular with both locals and tourists. The favorite is quattro stagioni, topped with mushrooms; artichoke hearts; cooked ham; and olives. Prices are very reasonable, pizzas go for $8 - $13.
Lago Grill - Casa de Campo. This restaurant is the pace to go for the best breakfast buffet in town. It is also a great place to go for lunch, the lunchtime buffet includes sandwiches; burgers; sancocho; and fresh conch chowder. It is very popular with tourists. |

La Locura - Viva Dominicus Beach resort. This is one of the best and most lively night clubs in La Romana, and is very popular with a mixed crowd of locals and tourists. DJs play a range of all the latest dance music from around the world. This is the place to go if you're looking to party, dance and make new friends.
Casa del Mar - Just out of town. This hotel has one of the most popular bars in town, and is frequented by tourists. This is a great place to kick back and relax, while having a few drinks after a long day in the sun. |

La Minitas - This is Casa de Campo's main beach. It is a small but excellent beach and lagoon, just 10 minutes from the centre of town. There are a wide range of bars and restaurants found at the beachfront. The beautiful white sand and warm waters make this one of the most popular beaches of the Republic, and is great for the whole family.
Catalina - This beautiful beach is located on a deserted island, which is surrounded by deep blue waters. It's only a 45 minute boat trip away from La Romana and is well worth the trip out. The soft white sand is perfect for relaxation while catching a tan. It can get a little crowded during peak tourist seasons. |
