Reef Diving – Guardalavaca has an extensive coral reef stretching over 900 metres and is home to a variety of colourful fish and sea life, the best spots for a dive are Aguajies, Boca de las Esponjas or El Salto. Equipment can be rented on the beach.
Bahia de Naranjo Aquarium – Dolphins and sea lions entertain the visitors daily in this natural aquarium. Why not have a once in a lifetime experience and swim with the dolphins.
Holguin City – A 65km drive from Guardalavaca is the Provincial Capital of Holguin with its parks, squares and monuments. The city is home to many historical buildings including La Periquera (The Parrot Cage), sounding like an adult only night club its in fact a museum depicting events in 1868 when the Spanish troops hid from a local uprising.
Columbus Statue – Nearby in Gibara is the place Columbus had his first sight of the New World and declared it “The most beautiful land that eyes have ever seen” after he caught sight of the beaches, mountains and vegetation. An interesting park marks the discovery. |

La Rocha Disco – Located at the Brisas Hotel is this lively dance venue. The DJ plays a wide range of music apart from Salsa, then if you are staying in the hotel you can nurse your hangover with a rum punch in the swim up bar.
Maritim Costa Verde – This 4 star resort set in a tropical paradise is where you’ll find a more laid back evening entertainment in the bar. Live music in the form of a couple of guitarists is very pleasant after an active day.
Paradisus Rio de Oro – Try the disco in this great resort a few kms outside Guardalavaca, this place rocks whatever you are into be it Salsa, Rock, Reggae or Techno even Jazz. Give it a try for a memorable night.

Guardalavaca Beach – Stunning beach with fine white sand embracing crystal clear warm water and fringed with palms. With a lounger and an ice cold Rum punch in hand, what more could you ask for in life?
Pesquero Beach – With huge mountains surrounding this area and many private small coves. Ideal to explore or relax on your own “private” piece of paradise.
Playa Esmarelda – Pristine sands and azure blue waters make for the perfect picture postcard beach. Near the hotels you are able to hire equipment for all water sports and use the cafes, so this is a good one for the family. |
