TOP DESTINATIONS Add your favourite destination
Hamilton – Bermuda’s harbour capital is a small lively affair crammed full of Victorian architecture and some interesting museums and galleries. A hilltop fort dominates the town with shops, restaurants and pubs offering the visitor a good time.

St George – This lovely town was the former capital and is the perfect place for a sightseeing trip. Evidence of British rule is all around and most of the town has stayed the same. Charming Kings Square, The Old State House and the museums are a few of the highlights.

Royal Naval Dockyard – The British used this site as a base in the American civil war and later in both world wars, but it was left soon after WW2, as it was too expensive to run. It has since been renovated and now houses the Maritime Museum, cinema, craft market, unusual pub and a snorkel park.

GREAT OUTDOORS Add your great outdoor
Bermuda Perfumery and Gardens – Find out how perfume is extracted from flowers, set in an old farmhouse just outside the capital. Nature trails ramble through acres of scented flora. Anyone with green fingers will love this treat.

Castle Island Nature Reserve – A 3.5 acre island near St Georges Parish is home to a 17th century castle with an interesting history. Keen bird watchers will be happy here with many species to spot.

South Shore Park – This protected coastal reserve includes some of Bermudas finest beaches, hike along the trail and experience some glorious sights as it links coves and bays ending at Warwick Long Bay with it’s white and pink coral sands and good surfing waves.

MOVING AROUND Add your opinion
Bus – As car rental is non existent on the small island the bus system is good enough, but bring the exact fare.

Taxi – Available at the airport, and will also give you a guided tour of the island provided you are prepared to part with a bit of dosh.

Moped and bike hire – In most fair sized places they are hired out, but a bike could be hard work on the hilly island.

NATIONAL FESTIVALS & HOLIDAYS Add your favourite festival
Peppercorn Day – On April 23rd officials collect one peppercorn as rent of the old state house in St George.

Bermuda Festival – The annual festival of the arts is held January- February and highlights the performing and visual arts of the country.

Bermuda Day – Celebrated on May 24th every year on what was Queen Victoria’s birthday in 1902, then was Empire Day and became Commonwealth day.
