The Govenors House - now forming part of the famous Mount Lavinia Hotel, the house was built by Sr Thomas Maitland in 1805.
Dehiwala Zoo - a nice place to visit with or without children, take a picnic basket along and enjoy the elephant show.
National Museum - situated 12km north in Colombo, the museum houses a collection focusing on portraiture as well as exhibits by local artists.
Colonial Buildings - for culture and architecture buffs, wonder through the streets of Colombo and be transported back to days gone by with the lovely colonial buildings. |

Mount Lavinia beach - a fine beach situated in a crowded suburb of Lavinia. Locals come to the beach on weekends to participate in beach and water sports and listen to live music.
Moratuwa beach - sandy beach that is not as crowded as Mount Lavinia. |

Galle Face Green - a seafront green area where cricket ganes are played, peple relax picnic and children play.
Cinnamon Gardens Park - the city's largest park where locals come to relax is situated in the most fashionable suburb in Colombo. |
