Happy Valley Racecourse - Have a quick flutter on the gee- gees and lap up the excitement of this much loved Hong Kong experience.

Man Mo Temple - A smokey, atmospheric living temple, which also served as the setting for the movie The World of Suzie Wong.

Hong Kong Park - Take a quite walk through the conservatory and aviary after a morning session of t'ai chi in the garden. Pleasant escape from the traffic and noise.

HONG KONG RESTAURANTS Add your favourite restaurant
Jumbo Floating Restaurant - For the diehard tourist only. Take a boat trip on this bells and whistles restaurant which does a turn in the harbour while you eat. Very much a production line type touristy thing but may appeal to some.

Yung Kee - Wellington Street. World renowned for their Cantonese cuisine such as barbequed pork, Peking duck and preserved eggs which they serve between 11am and 11.30pm daily.

M at the Fringe - With an international menu that always has new surprises, this restaurant is rather pricey but classy and has a variety on offer ranging from roast suckling pig to Middle Eastern specialities.

Cafe Deco - Stunning views over the city that could take your attention away from the food, unless you are sampling the excellent seafood.

HONG KONG BARS & CLUBS Add your favourite bar & club
Club 64 - Wing Wah Lane. Going strong for more than 50 years this is where the thinking types hang out to compare notes. Named for the Tiananmen Square massacre which happen on 4th June. Don your beret plus serious look and hang out with the revolutionaries.

Area - 28 Gough Sreet. Get with the hip crowd and party until midnight at this friendly bar.

1/5 - Wan Chai. If you want class and be part of the up and coming crowd this is the place to be seen.

Big Echo - Causeway Bay Plaza. You must try karaoke when in Hong Kong; croon the latest love song to your partner or belt out a rock lyric to test the strength of your loved one's commitment!

HONG KONG SHOPPING Add your favourite attraction
When shopping at the smaller shops and stalls remember to first check out the prices at a few places so that you can get into the swing of Hong Kongs haggling and bargaining- all part of the shopping experience and is expected. Harbour City has reams of shops, cinemas and restaurants.

Beware of tourist trap electronic shops in the cheaper areas such as Tsim Sha Tsui, rather buy equipment from well known stores. Pick up a trendy outfit or two in Granville Road at bargain prices. Causeway Bay is a shoppers dream and is the best place to pick up computers, cellphones or other technoware. Bargainhunters take note that the sale season is around June and October.

HONG KONG CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES Add your favourite children's spot
Ocean Park - Are we there yet, Dad?? A peninsula full of theme park, visit the panda bears or trek through the Dinosuar Discovery trail. For hi-tech wizz kids there is the Meteor Attack simulator and Adventure Land's rollercoaster rides. Animal lovers can feed the dolphin and sea lion stars of the Marine Land show.

Teddy Bear Kingdom - Kowloon - Tons of cuddly teddies, specially for the little ones.

Dolphin Watch - Take the kids on an eco- friendly trip just off the coast of Lantau to see the colony of pink dolphins.
