TUNIS LOCAL HISTORY
About 300 years of a steady succession of invaders starting with the Phoenicians, Romans, Vandels (they always had a bad name), Byzantines, Turks, Spanish and French each leaving evidence of their stay. The city is compact and has a strange mixture of Europe and the Middle East.

Ancient Medina – Fascinating old city in the heart of Tunis where you will find Souks (markets) where your haggling skills will come in handy if you are in the market for carpets, jewellery and ceramics. Explore the narrow streets with delights around every corner.

Dar Ben Abdallah Museum – Located in the Medina in an 18th century palace and originally a government building, but converted to a fine museum depicting upper class life in Tunis through the centuries in different rooms.
