The Old Rectory offers a retreat from everyday life, combining breathtaking scenery with a timeless sense of history. As you approach The Old Rectory, via its secluded driveway, you will discover it set beside Strensham Church, overlooking the River Avon and Cotswolds on one side and the Malvern Hills the other. Being surrounded by hundreds of acres of farm land this will put you into holiday mood from the outset. Inside you will be surprised by the spacious accommodation, enthralled by the profusion of old beams and wowed by the stunning four poster beds. Relax and watch the boats go by as you sip your complementary wine, taking in the panoramic vista and tranquillity. Alternatively by special arrangement you may wish to charter Narnia II, a 30ft narrow boat, moored at The Old Rectory; try your hand at operating the lock gates at Strensham and meander to the nearby Riverside Pub or cruise on to take in afternoon tea at historic Tewkesbury.

| This location is perfection itself, offering unusual ease of accessibility in an idyllic setting. No chance to feel isolated or bored as the nearby towns of Pershore, Tewkesbury and Upton-upon-Severn are only 10 mins away offering that quaint afternoon teashop and browsing feeling.
For the keen historian or shopper, the City of Worcester and the Spa Town of Cheltenham are 15 mins drive away. For the serious out and about types all the Cotswold locations, as well as numerous National Trust properties, are within easy reach.
Further afield but within 45 mins drive you can also explore Stratford (upon the very same Avon), Warwick Castle and Slimbridge Wildfowl Centre, and if you enjoy a theatre or concert night there's plenty going on.
On the other hand you might fancy taking to the local footpaths, leaving your car behind. Whether cycling or horse riding the network of country lanes, you can explore the numerous local country pubs offering home cooked food; you will be spoilt for choice. For the sporting fanatics we have an excellent choice of golf courses and leisure centres close at hand; watch a match at Worcester’s famous cricket and rugby grounds or a day at the races in Cheltenham.
Back inside The Old Rectory you can always find a room with a view, a new place to sit and relax away from the rest of the family perhaps, just curling up with a good book. There’s the main sitting room with huge, stretch out, comfy sofas and latest flat screen LCD TV, with access to an extensive private DVD film library. Then there’s the cosy snug with more sofas and holiday novels to hand, or perhaps try the unusual mezzanine area where you can have a quiet game of backgammon. Dine out at the many locations that can be arranged for you, or eat in your own separate dining room and, depending on the weather, light the log burner or throw open the French doors to your private patio and garden. |

Guestbook: New onto the market for summer 2009 so no guests to quote yet, but here is an independent quote from a historian writing about Strensham that can be found on the web:
'The situation of the rectory is so paradisical, overlooking the rich valley of the Avon, that I can excuse the occupants for lingering behind as long as possible.'
