Guernsey Woodcarvers, Les Issues Watch as the skilled hands of woodcarvers create beauty out of wood. See goblets, bowls, lamps and other marvelous pieces of art formed out of sixty different types of timber, or wonder at the skill of the cabinet-maker as he creates furniture that will be around long after you or I am around. Then take a stroll around the neighbouring strawberry farm and enjoy some refreshment at the tea gardens.

Bruce Russell & Son Silversmiths, Le Gron Watch exquisite silverware being fashioned at the workroom of third and fourth generation silversmiths, Bruce and Simon. If the children become bored take them on a ramble over the eight acres of award winning gardens and nature reserve that make up the grounds of this venerable old firm, and enjoy a meal at the licensed restaurant in the evening.

Bird Gardens The bird gardens at La Villiaze will keep you and your children entertained with the large collection of parrots, and hundreds of exotic birds in their aviaries. With an adventure playground, bouncy castle, and beautiful gardens to explore before settling down for a meal at the licensed cafe/restaurant.

Oatlands, The Craft Village, Bray Road - there is so much to see and do in this village that the family group will find something to interest and entertain every member. From cheese making to DIY crafting, Oatlands has it all and more. Round off an afternoon of fun with tea at the Village Tea Room and sample some of Guernsey's famous dairy products.

Riva Beautiful bistro in center of St Peter Port. The interior is like a superyacht with highly polished wood and glass. Serving Fish, Steaks and Pasta

Oatlands Brasserie - Guernsey This restaurant is a hidden gem. The meals are superb and anyone loving good natural food should give the Surf and Turf a try. Succulent Steak cooked to your choice (really) and huge King Prawns. You may have to wait a while for a table during busy times, which shows how popular this place is. http://www.ghata.com/oatlands/ Restaurant part of the Oatlands Visitor Complex and not far from Guernsey Freesias which rounds of a day visiting the St Sampson's end of Guernsey nicely. There are bus/coach tours which take in Oatlands which can be booked from the Bus Terminal in St Peters Port for those who have not got a hire car or cycles. Recommend Oatlands and in particular this restaurant with no hesitation at all. Marks out of 10? 11 for the meal.
