York Attractions

York Shopping

York is the place to get those gorgeous, delicate, and extremely valuable collectors items when it comes to bone china and crystal. With names like Waterford, Lalique, Wedgewood and Spode on the shelves, Mulberry Hall, a large 15th century house in Stonegate, is justly proud of its stock.

Also in Stonegate is Blackwell's with its stock of new books, or if you want to pick up some good second-hand titles take a look at Minster Gate Bookshop or snuffle around the Shambles for some excellent selections. If your fancy lies more in finding some souvenirs or gifts for the family back home, take the time to investigate the markets and craft shops in the surrounding districts.

York Parks & Gardens

Dean's Park for the perfect place to unwind in the fresh air, this quiet park behind the Minster lends itself to hours of contemplation and relaxation, and provides views of the beautiful church and other wonders of architecture.

Duncombe Park thirty-five acres of landscaped gardens surround the home of Lord and Lady Feversham, which has been restored to the glorious masterpiece it was when it was built in 1713.

Park Clarence Gardens this is a great place for whole family, with a bowling green for Dad, magnificent landscaped garden with shady trees for Mum, and separate children's playground for the little ones.

Ye Old Starre 40 Stonegate, once in the ancient city of York it would be a crime to miss popping into a pub that has served the people since 1644 and has a licence to prove it.
