Statuetes found in the Temple of Athena Pallas was found during excavations in the Acropolis which was located on the top of a hill int the center of the city.
A statue of a woman who belonged to the Archaic Age is one of the most important findings to date. The statue has been displayed in the Izmir Museum of Archaeology. Cesme which is approximately 94 kilometers west of Izmir has healing mineral springs, excellent beaches and crystal clear waters.
Cesme was called the "Little Harbor" by sailors but the name soon changed to Cesme because of the ice-cold waters in its fountains.
