Playa de las Americas Travel Guide
Playa de las Americas Local History
Man-made Playa de las Americas is one of the most astounding success stories of the tourist world. Tons of white sand were brought in from the Sah Desert to create this massive playground for the rich and richer.
Playa de las Americas Attractions
Parque Nacional de las Canadas del Teide - Mount Teide (pronounced as in lady) rises a stupendous 3.718 metres from a massive volcanic crater that is 48 km in circumference. Access to the extinct volcano is by cable car, or if you are feeling energetic, by foot, but whichever way you reach the top it will be worth the effort. The breathtaking view pans over Gran Canaria, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro.
Aqua Park - Situated about 5 minutes from Playa de las Americas, this park has all the things that go into making a holiday in the sun all the fun it should be. With the Dolphin Lake and Dolphin show, water rides and slides, pools and sun-bed areas, as well as restaurants, snack bars and shops, no one can complain that there is nothing to do or see.
Los Cristianos - Playa de las Americas close neighbour, Los Cristianos, has the Tenerife Zoo and the Eagles Park within close range, where a family can enjoy a day out and the kids won't be bored.
Restaurante Balkonen Across from Colombus Hotel. Great selection of food, Lebanese and pizza.

Happy hour on during the day too. 1.50 for bud, heineken, strongbow etc..... Food's tasty and reasonably priced too. Happy days !

Brazenhead II Best hosts in Tenerife: Martin, Helen, Sharon and Steve from Newcastle. New owners of the pub karaoke every night with resident Mike from Wales. They all make you feel very welcome. Go along and give them your support in their new venture. Tell them hello from Dublin

Cafe de Paris P d l Americas Just passing tonite but lured in to watch the most amazing guitarist we have heard for a long time - Ian Rockcliffe. Dire Straits, Black Sabbath - his repertoire is endless and he is note perfect. If you get the chance spare a few hours to listen to him play - you will not regret it.

Playa de las Americas Beaches
The man-made and regenerated beaches of Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos are examples of man's ingenuity and determination. Millions of tons of sand were brought in to create these tourist Mecca's, but the sun-worshipers and water babies who play there hardly give it a thought.
Their time is far too enjoyable and they are working far too hard on just having fun to concern themselves with the how and when of their beach's creation. And that is as it should be.
Playa de las Americas Restaurants and Bars
Playa de las Americas Restaurants
La Estancia - Urbanizacion Las Aguilas del Teide, Chayofa (Next to Hotel Estefania). This award-winning restaurant serves traditional French-Mediterranean cuisine, and frequently hosts Moroccan, French and Bastille Day theme nights.
The King and I Thai Restaurant - Local 12b, Garden City San Eugenio, the marvellous Thai food served in this restaurant and the great atmosphere transport diners to another place and another culture that is beyond description.
Krishna Tandoori C.C. Compostela Beach, (in front of Vista Sur). For a taste of India that is succulent and spicy, and very fresh, this Indian restaurant serves the best.
Churrasqueria Rodeo - Urbanizacion Playa Fanabe, 35. Playa de las Americas, this restaurant is something else. When you enter you are handed two cards, one green, and one red. If you display the green card, you are brought slices of juicy, red meat, which keep coming until you hold up the red card to indicate you are replete and fit to bust. Great place for carnivores, but definitely not for vegetarians.
Playa de las Americas Bars & Clubs
The Corner Bar - Parque de la Paz Las Americas (Opp. Mediterranean Palace) Enjoy the live entertainment in this bar, and get your belly around some good old British food.

The Full Monty Fun Pub - The Patch, Playa De Las Americas, come to this pub for some serious drinking, as well as the live entertainment and cabaret, for an evening you will never forget, even though you may possibly want to after the fifth round you ordered.
