Gran Canaria Attractions
Top Attractions
Las Palmas - This city is the urban heartbeat of the islands and its grubby streets ring to the sound of cash registers and industry by day, and at night pulsate to the beat of booming discos and wild partying. Over-crowded, loud, and noisy, Las Palmas may not be your idea of an idyllic holiday paradise, but it is exciting and stimulating in the extreme.
Maspalomas - The best reason to visit Gran Canaries, Maspalomas is renowned worldwide for its rolling sand dunes, and offers the best beaches in all the islands.
Arucas - This charming mountain town nestling on a sleeping volcano is a quiet retreat from the frantic hordes of oiled sun-tanning tourists on the beaches below. The stunning neo-Gothic church overlooking beautiful gardens, was built by local stonemasons and artisans between 1909 and 1977, and is a magnificent reason to visit the little town.
Teror - This typical Gran Canarian town is tucked away high in the mountains, and has a church built on the spot where the vision of the Virgin Mary appeared to Conquistador Don Juan de Frias in the 17th century.

With the celebrated Playa del Ingles offering a surfing, para-sailing, and scuba diving paradise, and the wild, windswept dunes behind the beach an awesome stretch of stark beauty. The quiet pristine sands of Playa de Maspalomas offer peaceful retreat from the bustling crowds, as well as the rocky Playa de la Mujer, and Playa de la Meloneras.
