La Herradura - This lovely beach lying between the two promontories of Punta de la Mona and Cerro Gordo is completely unspoilt and rivals any of the neighbouring Costa del Sol's.
Punta de la Mona - The Marina del Este yacht harbour can be found in a protected cove east of Punta de la Mona, where the clarity of the water attracts scuba divers and water sports enthusiasts.
Salobrena - This lovely white village with its Moorish castle and sugar plantations offers a sun-kissed beach to add to its many attractions.

Restaurant Alfareros - Calle Marcos 6. This is an excellent restaurant that offers a 3-course menu for lunch and dinner, which includes wine, for 950 ptas. Highly recommended.
Marisqueria El Alcazar - Paseo de Almeria. This restaurant is well known for its fish and seafood dishes, generous servings and reasonably priced menu.
Restaurant Sol de Almeria - Calle Circunvalacion. Found at the covered Mercado, this place offers meals for about 900 ptas, which includes a drink. The portions are generous, and at that price offer great value.
