Burgos Restaurants and Bars

Burgos is well known for its wide selection of cheeses. One of the best is known simply as Queso de Burgos (Burgos cheese),and is a fresh, ricotta-like cheese. .

The local Ribera de Duero tinto (red) wines now rival those of Rioja-Alta. Suckling lamb meat, suckling pig, blood-sausages, and traditional cooking such as casserole dishes are extremely popular in the area.

Meson Del Cid Place Santa Maria 8. The building that houses the restaurant was at one time a 15th-century printing press. It is now a hotel and restaurant that have been operating for four generations. The dining rooms have old beams and lovely views of the cathedral. The menu concentrates on authentic Borgalise food and is highly recommended.

Puerto Bugos - Vitoria 69. The restaurant in this smart hotel offers an international menu plus a range of local dishes.

Casa Ojeda - Vitoria 5 This very popular restaurant is well known for its excellent versions of local Burgos classics, the roast lamb is particularly recommended.
