Hemsedal offers many activities related with its mountains and snow, such as ice climbing, kiteskiing and paragliding but there is also a great opportunity for hunting, fishing and mountain hiking nearby. The two golf courses are an alternative for those who visit in summer. If you want to explore the area you can travel on the Flåm Railway and view some of Norway's wildest and most magnificent scenery with spectacular rivers, waterfalls, snow-capped and farm mountains. If you are traveling with kids there are many fun options for them: horse sleigh ride, dog sledding, paintball, among many other activities.

Apres-ski

Hemsedal has an activity center open every day of the week with 4 bowling lanes, golf simulator, billiard, dart, games and big screen TV, as well as restaurant and bar. For those that enjoy dancing and having a drink after a long day skiing there are a good choice of bars and pubs The main snowboard hang out is the Hemsedal Cafe, which can be expensive but very pleasant.

Overview

From the years 1980-1985 this small and friendly village has had a significant growth and has become a popular destination among skiers and snowboarders. The resort offers affordable prices and many activities for families with young children. Most of the slopes are for beginners but the experience skiers will fly along the downhill. There are over 200km of cross-country with trails carefully marked. You can also ski early in the morning and enjoy the fresh tracts or if you feel you didn’t get enough during the day, several slopes are open during the night. Many courses are offered, from avalanche to off piste courses, so no matter if you are a beginner or experience skier an incredible holiday is guaranteed.
