Geilo Ski Information
Geilo has a genuine farming culture so you can enjoy a day visiting any of its mountain farms or perhaps start with its cultural monuments and continue with a walk along its trails and learn about the towns history. You can also visit the Viking graves at Fekjo and the old houses at Geilojordet. Geilo is well known for producing high quality knives, axes and tools so another option is to stop by at its interesting factories and learn about the origins and manufacture of these traditional products.

In the town center you will find shops, restaurants and all service facilities you need to enjoy an incredible holiday Geilo has a rich cultural scene, so you can experience its tradition by visiting the farms and enjoy some folk music and folk dance. There are also many exhibitions, concerts, cinemas, theater and cultural events all year long. You will find both in the hotels and outside of these, many bars, pubs and restaurants as well as cafes, all with a good selection of drinks and meals.
The quiet and small resort of Geilo is great for families and cross-country skiers. Although, the facilities are average and if offers limited pistes for experience skiers which can find this a little disappointing. Nevertheless, Geilo stands out from other Norwegian resorts and has been a tourist destination for more than 100 years. Many enjoy having a town center in close proximity and that this resort is also an option for those who do not just want to ski as this village is full of traditions and culture. Many international events and competitions have been held here so for sure you will be able to have an incredible experience and skiing adventure.
