Bergen Fish Market - The towns landmark as every tourist site is close to the Fish Market. You won't miss this market, just follow your nose. They not only sell fresh fish but flowers, fruit, vegetables and crafts. A good place to find a gift.

Bryggen - This is the 900 year old waterfront tourist area and as such is a centre for all sorts of unique shops. The wide boulevard is traffic free and there are plenty of cafes and bars lining the sidewalks.

Galleriet at Torgallmenningen - This is the city centre shopping centre that carefully selects its tenants to give a good mixture. You will find most everything your heart desires here.

Cafe Kippers - Ideally situated on the waterfront at Georgernes verft. The 'powers that be' have turned a sardine factory into a fashionable cafe, where one can relax with a snack and a delightful view. They have regular art shows as well.

The Terminus Cafe - Zander Kaesgate 6. Located in the hotel with the same name. This is the place to take high tea. Stylish dining at it's best, they also do a daily special for dinner. Feel the atmosphere of elegance here.

Holbergstuen - Torgallmenning 6, One of Bergens oldest restaurants in the Galleriet shopping centre.Relaxed easy going ambiance. They serve traditional Norwegen food to the many regulars who keep returning.

Lucullus Restaurant - If you are going to go gourmet then you will find no better place to do it. The award winning restaurant is renowned for it's unique menu, fresh ingredients and first class service. The wine list is astounding and if they had half of them you would be doing well.

Bergen Bars & Clubs

Den Stundeslose - Ole Bulls Plass, Don't let the address put you off this hang out for the young (25+) Bergen apprentice socialites. They often have live music and creative people are to be found here. Always busy and great selection of beverages.

The 400 year-old Hanseatic Altona Cellar - Not many bars brag about their age like this, but this tavern in the Altona Hotel is amongst the oldest in town. Artists tend to gather here and they enjoy trying something from the ancient wine cellar.

Metro Bar and Metro Lounge - Ole Bulls Plass 4. This popular night club is located in the centre of town and is home to Bergen's bold, young and beautiful. Gets crowded after midnight, so to avoid dissapointment , come early.

Rick's - Veiten 3. Good central position along with a busy well stocked bar is what attracts young party animals to this joint night after night. They have a dress code (You have to dress to enter)
