General information

Santa Caterina has a few non-ski attractions near the village, a good place to start sightseeing is the Valfurva Valley Museum, which displays the history of life in the valley. Other sights worth visiting include The Civic Museum in Bormio; the Minerlogical and Naturalist Museum; and the Bormio Thermal Baths. GUided tours of the the area are also on offer and are a great way to explore the area for first time visitors.

The Apres Ski scene is very quiet and limited, with most of the nightlife being hotel based. There are only a small number of restaurants in town, which serve a range of excellent traditional, Italian and French cuisine. A few shops are found in town and offer equipment for rental. Other activities available include a swimming pool and an ice rink.


Santa Caterina is a charming quiet resort, and is ideal for families and beginners who want to stay away from the more crowded resorts. It retains much of its traditional charm and has some of the most outstanding scenery. The runs are best suited for intermediates, while beginners have a few good runs to choose from and experts will have to do a bit of travelling to find some good off-pistes. the APres Ski is very quiet with limited non-ski activities to choose from. There is also an excellent ski school for beginners.
