The Avril and the Sea Breeze - The Avril and the sea breeze restaurants are two fine examples of english run restaurants where you can enjoy traditional greek and english dishes, with good wines and a very friendly atmosphere, both are a must if you go to Elounda in crete.
Almyrida sandy beach - Almyrida, avery nice location in Apokoronas, Chania has a very nice sandy beach, awarded every year with blue flag
Sorrento - Loud and fun bar for all the family but not after 12pm when there are girls dancing on the bar and great entertainment formthe bar team and DJ. Great night out till 4am.
Camelot Bar, Elounda - Thomas, (Thenasis) provides a very warm welcome to all @ the bar in Elounda very near the beach front. Antonia his assistant also extends a warm welcome and although the English is a bit fragmented, she can make herself understood. ( I speak very little greek and even less Croatian!)She however speaks Greek like a local, so well done to her. They are lovely people. If in Elounda, visit them in the evening & experience what we did, you won't regret it!!
Olondi Restaurant. Elounda - Yanis & Kosta provide a very wide selection of traditional Cretan as well as European dishes. There is a fantastic welcome awaiting you and the location on the waterfront is spectacular. We have just come back, (again) and are looking forward to seeing them again next year. If you are ever in Elounda, you have to visit the restaurant, you will not be sorry!!
Crete Beaches
Almiros Beach The beaches around Agios Nikolaos are all clean sandy stretches, about the best of these is Almiros the only natural beach in the area, backed by an interesting protected nature reserve.
Red Beach At Matala is home to some the best beaches in Crete, known as the breeding grounds for the endangered Sea Turtles and the site for impressive beach caves. Red Beach is a nudist spot a 45-minute hike from the caves.
Vai An hours bus ride from Sitia lies this tourist haven It was populated with hippies, but has been cleaned up to a pristine standard. The tropical trees provide much needed shade in winter.

Thraka Platokallergon 14, Tried and tested old traditions die-hard at this stylish venue which specializes in Souvlaki and Ham gyros cooked over charcoal. Popular with warm and friendly service!
Dimitri's In relatively quiet Western Crete lies Rethymno, and at Ag Varvaras 35 you'll find Demitri's. A great place to meet the locals and the owner brews his own raki, which comes with a plate of snacks to soak it up.
Anaplous This outside bistro is located at the harbour in Hania, serving mouth watering Greek meats. For a romantic intimate dinner for two you'll not find a better option.

Malibu Split in two by the beach road in Malia, Malibu throbs with 'Lager Louts'Pop, House and all night raves are the norm here. A host of discos and clubs line this street.
Multiplace Peripou In Agios Nikolaos at Octovriou is this one stop entertainment place, consisting of an Internet Cafe, Record and bookstore. dancing to the latest hits and the regular live bands make this place rock.
