Schlossplatz (Palace Square) - A traditional market is held here on Wednesdays and Saturdays and you can pick up local produce and household items.
Wilhelmstrasse - This is the heart of the town for upmarket shopping and the ideal place for gift buying. as well as the chain stores there are quaint little individual stores offering jewellery, clothes and toys.
Taunusstrasse - The central street for the antique lover. Wiesbaden is well known for the variety of antique shops. Bargains may be thin on the ground though. Nevertheless an interesting morning can be spent nosing around.
Wiesbaden Restaurants and Bars
Kafer's Bistro - Located at the popular Kurhaus Casino, this highly reputed restaurant does things differently and they describe a meal here as a gastronomic adventure. Bavarian specialities are offered as well as a selection from all over. There is a warm, sophisticated ambience here and the place in town to meet.
Havanna - A taste of Cuba right here in the heart of Wiesbaden close to the town hall. The restaurant is airy, fashionable and relaxed. The menu varies and they try to please all palettes and the service is first class.
The Ente - Kaiser Friedrich Platz 3-4, Top of the range restaurant situated in the Nassauer Hof hotel. Wiesbaden's jewel as far as cuisine is concerned. Very stylish in food and decor, but you have to pay for the best.
Cafe Maldaner - Located downtown and serving delicious cake and coffee, surrounded by old fashioned charm.
Wiesbaden Bars & Clubs
Wiesbaden Casino - Kurhaus is where everyone heads to for a game of chance in stylish surroundings. Even if you don't play it's worth coming here for a drink or meal to admire the beautiful interior.
Euro Palace - This is the largest disco in the Rhein-Main and you can find it in the area of Mainz-Kastel a suburb. It is massive and always busy for the state of the art dance floor, bars and theme nights. Trance, House, Reggae and hip hop are popular.
Park City Cafe - Just over the road from the Kurpark and popular with the locals. They often host live bands and you can dance the night away here. Dress is smart/casual and there is a cocktail bar.
