Simplicissimus Ingrimstrasse 16. Justifiably popular with the locals and tourists, the service is excellent and the French cuisine is very tasty. The Saddle of Lamb is a speiciality and the wine list has a good selection of German, Portugese and Italian wines.

Cafe Knosel on Hospelgasse 20. Reputed to be the oldest cafe in Heidelberg, it specializes in dark chocolate filled with praline and nougat called the Heidelberger Studentenkuss (student kiss). Wow.

Schlossweinstube Schlosshof. Located in the castle, you can sit outsude when the weather is good. The speciality is roast duck with all the trimmings it really is delicious

O'Reilly's Bruckenkopfst. This pub was voted 'Best Irish Pub' in Germany a few years ago.If you want a Guiness in convivial surrounding this is the plave for you.

Deshille Unterstr. 16 The crowd here is a jolly mix of tourists and locals alike.

VaterRhein Untere Neckarst.20-22. Check out the retro 1950's ad's on the wood paneled walls while you take advantage of the cheap drink and food
