Weserflohmarkt - This river front flea market is to be found at Schlactel and Weser promenade on Saturday and moves to Burgerweide on Sundays. You are bound to find a bargain among the hundreds of stalls.

Schnoor - The place to buy gifts in the shopping centre of town. A great choice of quality goods some locally produced by hand. Barenhaus sells bears in all shapes and sizes, and Rapunzel stocks all sorts of souvenirs.

Antikitaten B&M - Fedelhorn 19. For salvaged goods from old ships, you might discover a bargain, but they are wise to the value and I doubt it. Still it's an interesting shop to browse.

L'Orchidee - Bahnhofsplatz 11, Located high up in the Hotel zur Post, this is elegant dining at it's best and is known as one of the top city restaurants. Although the prices go with stylish dining. The service, original menu and sophisticated decor are to be kept as a treat for a special occasion.

Alte Glide - Ansgaritorstrasse 24, This dining experience will not break the bank and the 17th century venue is highly decorated with stucco gargoyles, sea creatures, etc. The vaulted cellar is a reminder of the past. Fish is the speciality here and it is bought in fresh, but there are many other interesting items on the menu.

Grashoff's Bistro - Situated in a central position at Contrescarpe 80, but only open for lunch as the local workers and shoppers rush here for a mixture of German food in French ambience. The food and service can not be faulted. Just ask the locals who repeatedly use the restaurant.

Achims Beck Haus - Carl-Ronning-Strasse 1, This is a popular meeting place pre disco or show, they offer basic pub grub as well as a good selection of beverages.

Litfass - Ostertorsteinweg 22 . Boasting the longest bar in town, the barman is also known as the fittest. Open from early to late. This casual bar can get a bit wild especially if you've been there from 10am till it closes at 4am.

Romer - Fehrfeldstrasse 31. One of the largest dance floors in town. The lively DJs get the in crowd rocking till the early hours. $Euro cover with free drinks is bound to be popular.

Modernes - Neustadtwall 28. This is unusual as it's a movie house during the week and becomes a disco/live music venue at the weekend. The seats just to have to be cleared, but a good idea.
