More than 30 markets are held in Tours every month. The gourmet market is held the first Friday of every month 4 to 10pm at place de la Resistance; the flower market takes place Wednesday and Saturday 8am to 6pm on boulevard Beranger; the flea market is held on Wednesday and Saturday 7am to 5pm at place de la Victoire; and the craft market takes place on Saturday 9am to 6pm at place des Halles. You'll find a great selection of local products on sale at all of these markets.

Les Tuffeaux - 19 rue Lavoisier. This is one of the best restaurants in Tours, and is housed in an 18th century house. They serve a wide range of local dishes and the menus change about once a month. Roasted filet of pigeon with pink grapefruit is one of the longer lasting favorites. Main courses $23.35 - $43.
Le Relais Bure - 1 place de la Resistance. This brasserie specializes in shellfish and regional dishes. It also has a busy bar and a front terrace, with tables scattered inside on the street level and mezzanine. They serve a range of excellent dishes, which include six well-flavored versions of sauerkraut; a wide choice of grilled meats; and a tempting selection of desserts.
La Roche le Roy - 55 rte. St Avertin. This restaurant is housed in a steep-gabled 15th-century manor, and is one of the most popular in Tours. They serve a range of local dishes, such as scalloped foie gras with lentils; cod with saffron cream; and panfried scallops with a truffle vinaigrette. Main courses cost around $16 - $34.

Lounge-Bar La Villa - 24 rue de la Monnaie. This is one of the most interesting and popular bars in Tours, and is a great place to go for a more relaxed evening out. Here comfortable chairs; mirrors; a color scheme of blue and wine lees; and modern art emphasize style and comfort.
Le Louis XIV - 37 rue Briconnet. This stylish bar is very popular with locals and tourists alike. It is a great place to meet new people, while having a few drinks. It is a great place to start off experiencing the nightlife that Tours has to offer.
L'Excalibur - 35 rue Briconnet. This is the hottest dance club in Tours and is very popular with the younger local crowd. With its great disco beat and video system, you're garunteed to have a great time, dancing the night away till the sun comes up.
