Toulon Parks & Gardens

Place d'Armes - Located at the east end of Toulon. This large open area gives the city a spot for recreational sports and moments of relaxation. The Place d'Armes is spacious and has cement plaza areas with benches, all surrounded by a fence of hedges. It is frequented by children; couples; mothers and children, all looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Toulon Beaches

Plage du Mourillon - This beach is located just outside the centre of the city and is the Toulon's largest beach. The white sand is always welcoming and the crowd that frequents the beach is friendly. The beach is also home to one of the city's oldest fortresses, which dates back to 1514. There are also many shops, cafes and snack shops, where you can take a break from the hot sun.

La Chamade - 25 rue Denfert-Rochereau. This is one of the best and most popular restaurants in Toulon. They serve a fixed-price menu that includes a choice of three appetizers; three main courses; and three desserts. The food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable, main courses cost around $14.75 - $20.85 and the fixed-price menu is $45.

Au Sourd - 10, rue Moliere. This restaurant is one of the most popular seafood restaurants in Toulon, and is possibly one of the oldest. The decor is rural, and the atmosphere comfortable and classic. Some of the chef's specialities are sauteed calamari; St Jacque mussels; and a savory Mediterranean sole.

Restaurant Herrero - 45, quai de la Sinse. This is another popular seafood restaurant in Toulon, with a nautical theme that showcases propellers on the wall; fishnets on the ceiling; and azure table cloths. The entrees range from fish to oysters, and a variety of crustaceans. They also have a great selection of beers and wines.

Bar a Thym - 32, boulevard Docteur-Cuneo. This casual laid-back bar is the perfect place to go for a more relaxed evening out, as you begin to sample the nightlife on offer in Toulon. It is very popular with the younger locals, because of its relaxed vibe; great beer selection; and varied roster of live music.

La Navigateur - 128, avenue de la Republique. This is one of the most popular classic disco clubs in Toulon. Here you can dance to the '70's and '80's favorites being played on the sound system. This is a great place to party all night long, while mixing with some of the locals that frequent the club.

Le Bar 113 - 113, avenue de Infanterie. This bar located close to the bay is very popular with the locals from the military base. The bar is free from pretension and attitude and is great place to go and have an excellent evening out. There's all kinds of fun to be had, from pool to dancing to live music.
