Tignes Ski Information
General information
With plenty of shopping in the outlets, it is well worth window shopping or even stopping to purchase a gift or sit at one of the many cafes for a cup of espresso or mulled wine. There is a choice of 3 fitness centres in Tignes for beauty treatments, a warming sauna or swim. The village museum is of interest for pictures of Tignes from before skiing was invented and the local resistance to the damn. The hiking is first class and you may be lucky enough to see rock Marmottes or even Golden Eagles soaring high above the snowy tundra, and the panoramas from the peaks are something else.

Apres-ski
Apres ski in Tignes is on the lively side, but if it's a romantic evening at a French country restaurant you are wanting or pub grub at The Red Lion, the choice is yours. Cafe De La Post often hosts a live band and reggae is popular. The Loop is a good all round venue as there are quiz nights and DJs thump out the latest hits (Not on the same night) The two discos are Jacks Club and Pulp and are both popular late night/early morning venues.
Overview
Tignes is located high up in an area known as L'Espace Killy, Savoie. The resort has over 300km of piste skiing and much off piste (You will need a guide). The high altitude makes for a prolonged ski season and it's Grande Motte glacier makes the resort good to go most of the year. Built in the 60s, it's a bit run down, but the top level skiing more than makes up for this fact. All levels of competence are well catered for and experts are spoiled for choice. Childcare facilities are great and there are some good restaurants in the village. Snowboarders have a park to play in and the other snow sports include cross country, skidoos, telemark and snow shoeing.
