Overview
Serre Chevalier is a charming typical French Alpine resort and enjoyed by local families. Offering plenty of good skiing in the wooded surroundings for the beginner and skier with some experience, but not a great deal for the more accomplished. Snowboarders will have a great time in their own park. Night skiing with torches can be enjoyed here as will cross country, snow shoeing, telemark, sleigh rides and skidoos. The resort has a sport centre, gym and ice rink and there are lots of scenic trails for hiking. There is a decent selection of shops, restaurants, pubs and clubs, but it's certainly not a wild resort and shopping is better in Briancon.
