Alain Boutin - 65 rue Carnot. This is the best restaurant to go to for excellent regional dishes, like cailles au pineau (quails cooked in a brandy liqueur). It offers a small, carefully chosen selection. Menus prices start from $16.68. This restaurant is popular with tourists and locals alike.

Bleu Sel - 40 rue Moulin a Sel. This cafe serves a good range of salads and sandwiches at affordable prices and is very popular with students and tourists. This is a great place to go for a quick bite to eat, while taking a break from all the sightseeing.

Le Loft - 85 promenade des Courts. This is one of the best dance nightclubs in Poitiers, and is very popular with the high energy young locals. They play all the latest dance music, and this is the place to go if you're looking to party till the early hours of the morning.

L'Eclipse - 55 promenade des Courts. Close to Le Loft, this is another of the town's popular dance nightclubs. It is very popular amongst the local student population, and is a great place to party the night away, while meeting new people.

Le Privilege - 195 av. du 8 mai. This worldly looking nightclub, is a more laid back alternative to the other more hectic nightclubs in the town. It is also popular with the local student population, and is great for a more relaxed night out on the town.
