Lyon is a bastion of fashion. For boutiques, art galleries, and artists' studios, go to Vieux Lyon and the area around rue de la Republique, rue Victor Hugo, rue Merciere, and quai St Antoine. For antiques, most dealers concentrate around rue Auguste-Comte. The densest concentrations of retail shops in Lyon are along rue Emile Zola, rue de President Edouard Herriot, and place Kleber.
Lyon Parks & Gardens
Parc de Bron-Parilly - Parilly Park, situated at Avenue Mendes-France, is a good place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and is popular with students from the nearby university, who come here to revise or talk in the shade of the oaks and even to nap on the lawn in the company of the squirrels and rabbits that roam freely here.
Parc de la Tete d'Or - Located at Boulevard des Belges. This is one of the most popular parks in Lyon, it covers more than 105 hectares and has a zoo; a 5-hectare rose garden; enormous greenhouses filled with exotic species; and a mysterious island. This park is a great place to relax and take a break.

La Mere Brazier - 12 rue Royale. This is one of the most famous restaurants in Lyon. The simple decor and wood paneling make an attractive setting for a leisurely lunch or an outstanding supper. You can order excellent regional dishes, accompanied by local wines. This is an excellent place to sample the best of the local cuisine.
La Tassee - 20 rue de la Charite. This restaurant believes in serving good food at prices most people can afford. The dining room has noteworthy frescoes painted in 1951, when the restaurant opened. Huge portions are served, and you might be offered anything from strips of tripe to game or sole.
Le Bistrot de Lyon - 64 rue Merciere. This is one of the largest and busiest restaurants in town and was established in 1975. The design that incorporates four dining rooms, velvet banquettes, mirrors, and mosaics. They serve a wide range of excellent local dishes, and a good selection of local wines.
Lyon Bars & Clubs
L'Espace Gerson - 1 place Gerson, 5e; M Vieux-Lyon. This cool modern bar is very popular with locals and tourists alike. They offer frequent jazz and performance art, plus there are dart boards and pool tables. It is a great plays to hang out and mix with the locals.
Fish - located opposite 21 quai Augagneur, 3e; M Guillotiere. This is one of Lyon's hippest night clubs, specializing in house. Admission is $11. Thursdays is student night, Friday is theme night and Saturday is garage. This is the place to go if you're looking fo r a party.
Eden Rock Cafe - 68 rue Merciere, 2e; M Cordeliers. This massive bar is decorated with memorabilia and modern art from the United States, with cheap beer and food served until 1am. It is very popular with tourists, and is a good place to go if you're looking for something a little familliar.
